This waltz-like piece is distinctive in its ascending and descending motion, which evokes an image in my mind of dancing in the air.

This work is dedicated to all who gave their lives in defense of life and liberty. May we never forget their sacrifice.

There are two versions available. The first version is a piano solo; the second is the original synth version that I composed in college as part of my composition recital. In this song I employ the use of parallel motion in both hands, which produces an almost medieval quality.

About John about me

John Albert Thomas began composing original, melody-based piano works when he was 12 years old. His compositions have the simplicity and thinly-layered delicacy of Mozart, combined with a contemporary sound reminiscent of Enya, George Winston, and Jim Brickman. In 1995, John graduated from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, with a bachelors degree in Music Theory and Composition. Upon graduation he moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he now lives with his wife, Rebecca, and their four children. John has released several solo piano albums, and continues his work on future projects.
